This is the third of David Kline's books I have purchased and enjoyed. When I first began this book, I was a little disappointed because it was just what it said, a daily dairy. I know, that's unfair since the title clearly calls it a "Day Book." But after I read a little more, I entered into the rhythm of the life on his farm and I came to look forward to the next installment. I tried to ration my reading to fully savor the writing and to experience the seasonal changes he describes. I also got a better sense of the scope of hard work it takes to have a productive farm business and the sense of satisfaction which accompanies that effort. It helped me end each day with a more peaceful feeling. If you are feeling stressed by the frenetic activity of today's world, enter David Kline's world and regain a sense of proportion and peace. Highly recommend this book!

I couldn't put this book down! The author drew me into his world and I didn't want to leave. I choose it because of his association with Wendell Berry, another favorite storyteller.

Gorgeous details of daily life and work on a small, well-managed farm.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Kline's observations of the farm and nature are excellent. Hope that he does a sequel.

David Kline' s writing style is like being there and having a conversation with him! He writes about not only farming, but nature and life and how it all affects our lives! For me it's like spending time with my grandfather! Round Of A Country Year is another great book by David Kline, it deserves more than 5 stars!
