I've purchased "As a Man Thinketh" first in its original 1908 format, and I found the language to difficult to follow for such a slim volume. So I next spent a few cents and bought the kindle version of the New Century Version. And I devoured it. I read it like it was the very answers to all of my deep questions. But I'm not a big Kindle fan. So I bought the New Century version in the only format that was available; paperback. I'd rather have this in a hardback, because I know I'm going to be reading it over and over again.The truths are simple yet profound. I'm presently reading "The Rewired Brain" by Dr Ski Chilton, and these two books have similar advice. One takes forty minutes to read. The other goes into the science of the brain and how to retrain your thoughts. I've been reading it for three weeks and I'm still working on it! I highly recommend this version of "As a Man Thinketh" for today's reader. Good information in a tight package.
The main topic of the book is that the way you think is the way the world tends to manifest. The main advantage of this version is that it's easily understandable compared to the old version (with old language, difficult for me to read). I really loved this book because it's a real guide of life with a lot of wisdom and insights and, also, very straight to the point and quick to read. I highly recommend it.
After 55 years of studying the nature and operation of physical reality I have over and over, in teachings across the world and across time, found the same fine wine of truth...and it has come in many different bottles. Here again is that same wine for us to taste and savor once more. We must taste and savor it often in order to remember its flavor through our busy daily life. This particular bottle is a beautiful, succinct, and uncluttered one, proffering the original thoughts of James Allen in a form palatable to today’s pace and language. Kudos and thanks to the author. I carry that wonderful taste of truth forward once more into my day.
One needs to be reminded of these basic principles for living. I find that if I write goals down they are more likely to happen. I am finding much pleasure in the smaller things of life. This is a book to hopefully reform thinking to a more positive way to gain that peace of mind rather than success as such.

If you're at that cross roads, or feeling a bit lost like a ship at sea seeking the destination or direction- and the security of more than superficial bs- this is the book to help you. Thank you.

The power of this book is that it packs so much good advice into so few pages. The small size makes for a quick first-time read. It also makes it easy to re-read the entire book as a refresher to bring those ideas back into focus. At only 99 cents on Amazon, it is easily worth the small investment of time and money.
Great and Profound book. We have the original as well but this one is much easier to read instead of the Old English. :-) I like having both however as this one was in my dad's book collection. Came quick and in mint condition. Would recommend to anyone who does not own a copy!
