A good read overall and the author kept the pace running reasonably well though with quite a lot of padding especially with regard to the police and notably the lead detective who does not appear to have made great progress in his career as a result The story did seem to be sympathetic to some characters more than others, probably for good reason. Only near the end did the writer stake a position on the lead character whose role seemed airbrushed for much of the book.Maybe he was really like that but drug dealing and bank robbery no matter how gentlemanly (when it was going well of course) are not sympathetic actions. One of the most amazing aspects was how some downtown banks were repeatedly robbed without any further safety precautions appearing to be taken and their technology was woeful. The police are championed here but come across as incompentent given the numbe of bank hits on the same old places.
Wow, this sounds like it would have to be fiction. It's definitely not! What an intriguing story!
Only Ann Rule writes with such clarity and heart for the victims and yet sees just as clearly the dark absolute Evil in the perpetrators of such horrific crimes!
I enjoyed the story. The guy had skills
